Since our graduation was approaching and a seat sale was up, we decided to fly to Puerto Princesa for our pre-graduation getaway. Why’d go for Puerto Princesa instead of Coron or El Nido? Well, we wanted to explore this underrated capital of Palawan plus airfare was cheaper hehe. Anyways, let’s get on to the details of our trip.
We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights in Hue Hotel, which was a newly built hotel in the city. I gotta say, I loved the hotel. The staff were really nice and you’d really feel at home with their interior. The price range for this hotel I’d say would be mid-range.
For our itinerary, we booked it through an agency because we didn’t want to stress out on planning it. So, here’s our itinerary for the whole trip:
11:00 am: Arrival in Puerto Princesa via CebuPacific
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Half-day city tour (Crocodile Farm, Mitra’s Ranch, Baker’s Hill and Immaculate Conception Cathedral)
6:00 pm: Dinner at Kah’lui
7:00 am – 5:00 pm: Honda bay island hopping (Starfish island, Luli island and Cowrie island)
6:00 pm – Dinner at Badjao Seafront Restaurant
6:00 am – 3:00 pm – Underground River and Zipline
7:00 pm – Flight back to Manila via CebuPacific
In terms of transportation, there were a lot of tricycles that you can ride on. They charge per person or per ride depending on the distance. There were some taxis but not a lot. It was mentioned to us that it was just recently that taxis have been deployed and it was only 30 units.
Our itinerary covered everything that Puerto Princesa has to offer. At first we were thinking if we should plan a side trip to El Nido but then it was time consuming so we decided to just roam around the city and see what it has to offer. All in all, it was an amazing trip and we enjoyed it!
